Hello from N. VA
« on: July 11, 2010, 06:26:06 PM »
Hello from N. VA.  I just joined the group.  We are going to buy a trailer and want to start camping again!! I used to camp a lot as a kid but college and now work has gotten in the way. Looking to start camping again.  We would like to join a group that we can camp with on the weekends. We are both working professionals...married 14 years.  Our biggest hobby is BBQ...We cook in BBQ competitions several times a year.  Would love to hook up with a group that likes to camp and cook outdoors!

Hi N. VA!!!!  Welcome to VA Campers!!  You'll LOVE it here--you love to BBQ and this group LOVES to eat--and they cook like crazy!!!  Hope you can maybe join us all at Lake Anna in October for the Fall Rally--not too far from you, I guess.  Don't be scared of the term "rally"--we're talking less than 20 families usually.  And we always have a great time!!

Just keep checking the site and soon the food consumers will be at a site near you.  We love to camp, eat and talk half the night.  The old saying Good food, good friends make good times applies.  Welcome and join in any time.  Where at in NoVa do yu hail from?  That is a big congested place but some one has to live there I guess.  Again welcome to the group.

Thanks for the warm welcome!  We live in Sterling near Dulles. We will be "camping" next weekend at a BBQ cookoff at Small Country in Louisa.  My hubby will be sleeping outdoors under the stars (I got a hotel to sleep in). We were planning to get a trailer before the weekend so we can sleep in our spot but we haven't found the perfect one and didn't want to buy on the spur of the moment.

I can't wait to get camping again.  The rally sounds fun...When/where is it? Is it usually just a weekend?

All the cabins at Small Country were booked?
We were thinking about heading down there since it's only a 25 min drive for me, but I've already run out of room in the belt for xtra holes to be punched. ;D

I lived in Herndon quite a few years ago.

The rally is in October at Lake Anna State Park. It's just down 95 from you.
check out the fall rally 2010 thread for more details.

We seem to be a camping group with an eating problem, so you folks will fit right in!!
